Product Vitamin D3
I was excited to start using Vita-Med’s D3 Cream since I was already sold on the many great natural ingredients and the 10,000iu per pump of vitamin D3. I have been using it as my primary facial moisturizer in the morning since May 29, 2011. My results have been stellar! Just ask any of the ladies in the office how my skin looks or see for yourself on this video: However, this was not my only reason for using the cream, I wanted to see if it would really raise my blood levels. For at least one month before my first blood test I had completely stopped taking supplements that contained any vitamin D and for the two months that I was using the cream I was supplementing with about 400mg of magnesium citrate daily and taking a multivitamin a few days per week(not very consistent) with only 1000iu of D3.
This supplement program was a drastic change for me considering my background in supplements (5+ yrs retail health foods) Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you how many hand-fulls of supplements I am used to swallowing. My initial blood test was a shock! A level of only 36.3 ng/mL with a standard reference range of 32-100 ng/mL!
Needless to say, I was looking forward to getting that level cranked up and crank it up it did! The results of my follow up blood test were totally fantastic at 48 ng/mL, an increase of 11.7 or 32.23% and it was so easy! It wasn’t like I had to create some new routine or anything, just by replacing my old facial moisturizer with Vita-Med’s D3 Cream. The skin on my face is also softer and smoother to the touch and has that healthy radiant glow.

Diabetic Friendly Tips
Don’t be so hard on yourself:

Living with diabetes is a 24 hour career. You can’t just say okay today I am not going to be diabetic and tomorrow I will start back again. We are only human and we slip up once in a while, just get back on the horse the next day. Don’t let the guilt get you down, or keep your sugar level up.
Focus on the positive in your life:

It seem as though a lot of people with type 2 diabetes pay more attention to everything they can’t have, instead of the things they can have. Adjusting your outlook to be more positive can help you focus more on how to stay healthy and still be happy with the food you are allowed to eat rather than be upset about the foods you are not allowed to eat.
Keep a food record:

As you are learning to gain control over your weight and blood sugar, it can be helpful to keep a record of the food you eat on a daily basis, along with your record of daily blood sugar measurements. When you eat try to write down what time you ate, what you ate, where you were and how much you ate. This way you can see your eating habit as well as change them if needed.
To snack or not to snack:

Every person is going to be different when it comes to snacking. We found that if you go more than 4-5 hours without eating you may want a mid-afternoon snack. This could help keep your blood sugar steady or it may be needed if you are taking certain medicines. Discuss what snacking method is best for you with your doctor.
Limit your snacking:

When you eat out of a bag compared to putting them in a bowl or on a plate you are more likely going to eat more. Since you cannot see how much you are eating before you know it the bag will be almost gone. Instead put a small potion on a plate or in the bowl, seal the bag up and put it away, and then enjoy your snack.
Exercising:

Exercise helps decrease fat and promotes weight loss. The best thing about exercise is even if you don’t lose the weight while working out, exercise will improve blood-sugar control and your body’s response to insulin may help prevent heart disease. The key to working out is to get moving doing whatever you enjoy as such walking, swimming, running, cycling or even dancing. Note: If you’re out of shape or have recently been diagnosed, please see your doctor before you begin any kind of exercise program.
Also, keep in mind you can always look for diabetic friendly products at your local grocery store.
Here is a fun snack idea:
Apple Slices

Ingredients:
· 1 APPLE
· DASH OF CINNAMON
· SIMPLY STEVIA TO TASTE
Directions:
Slice apple thinly, coat with Simply Stevia and add the cinnamon. Place in a dehydrator or bake at 325 until chewy and a little crispy. Let cool and enjoy. :)
Sweet Japanese Cucumber Salad:

Ingredients:
· 1 CUCUMBER SLICED/ DICED
· 2 TABLESPOONS APPLE CIDER VINAGER
· 1 TABLESPOON FRESH LEMON JUICE
· 1 TABLESPOON FRESH BRAGG’S LIQUID AMINOS
· 1 TEASPOON FINELY MICED ONION
· CAYENNE PEPPER TO TASTE
· SIMPLY STEVIA TO TASTE
Directions:
Mix ingredients together, marinate for 15 minutes or more and serve chilled.
Variations: Marinate cucumbers in sweet wasabi marinade.

If you are in phase 2 which we count as off the drops than you may have raspberries and blueberries as well as strawberries. If you are still on the drops then you may only have strawberries, apples, orange or 1/2 a grapefruit because of the sugar content.
10 Ways to Stay Focused on Losing Weight
1.) Know your poison: Know what you are getting into before you get into it. Keep a diary or a journal, this way if you start losing motivation you can see your progress.

2.) Suck it up: Sometimes we have to deal with the reality that it is not always going to be as easy as you thought it was going to be. Suck it up! Everyone falls off the wagon every now and again but that is not an excuse to stop all together. Get back on and get focused.

3.) Reward yourself: Do you find yourself staying on track but wanting to give up? Reward yourself with a healthy snack such as Apple slices with Cinnamon. Ladies, you can also reward yourself with those new shoes or shirt you’ve been eyeing. Gentlemen, you can always reward yourself with that new movie you been waiting to see or ordering the sports channel to see the big game or the big fight.

How does HCG work?
Do you ever wonder just how does HCG work? HCG is very popular and every company is going to have their own way of doing things so, please make sure to follow the directions for the product you are currently taking.
How long does the bottle last?
1oz usually last 21 days
2oz usually last 40 days
Drops:
You should start with 5 drops 4 times a day. You should not drink or eat 15 mins before taking the drops or 15 mins after taking the drops. If you feel hungry after the first couple days or week of being on the 500 calorie program then you should switch to 3 drops 8 times a day.
The point of this is because you take in less drops more often and it is always in your system.
How does HCG work? Phase 1 Has 2 parts.
Phase 1 Part 1: 2 days of loading. On these 2 days you will take the drops while eating whatever you would like, the fattier foods the better.

Note for “How does HCG work?” : When I was on this program I didn’t worry about my calories as much as I worried about just making sure I had all the food I was supposed to have for that day with the right amount. Example; if I had Protein I would make sure I would have 4oz, measured before I cooked, for lunch with my 2 cups of celery and an apple, then I would repeat with a different protein for dinner.
Remember with this program there are some days you will lose pounds and other days you will lose inches. It’s a good idea to measure yourself in addition to weighing yourself.
Water Intake: You should drink at the very least half of your body weight in ounces of plain water.
Breakfast: Tea, Coffee or water
Lunch and Dinner: (choose one from each category for each meal)
1.100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken must be removed from the bird.
2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: Spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes (only 1 cup with each meal), celery, fennel, onions (only 1 cup with each meal), red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, or cabbage.
3. One Grissini breadstick or one Melba toast
4. An apple, orange, a handful of strawberries or ½ grapefruit.

Not listed:
You may have 1 tablespoon of fat free milk a day or in a 24 hour period
You may also have one lemon for the day or the juice of one lemon for the day.
Seasonings are ok but you need to make sure there is no sugar in them.
You may have as much Simply Stevia as you would like.
Splenda is not allowed on the program!
If you stall:
If you stall out for 3 days, on your 4th day you may have an apple day. With the apple day you will have 4-6 LARGE apples for the whole day with very little water.

VEGETAIAN PROTOCOL:
This is exactly the same except you may now take in unlimited veggies.
NOTE: You may only use the vegetarian protocol if you are willing to NOT eat the meat through the whole program.
Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoon of fat free milk allowed in 24hrs. Stevia by Stevia International may be used in any beverage.
Lunch and Dinner: (choose one from each category for each meal)
1. 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg, 3 oz Tempeh, 4 oz cottage cheese, or 1 scoop pea, whey protein. All protein options must be prepared with no additional fat.
v For a Vegan option you may consume 3 oz tempeh, I scoop Pea protein, or 1 scoop Soy protein per meal while on phase I.
2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: Spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, or cabbage.
3. One Grissini breadstick or one Melba toast
4. An apple, orange, a handful of strawberries or ½ grapefruit.

Note: ONLY consume one serving of cottage cheese OR Tempeh in the same day. Alternate and use these options sparingly during phase I as they have more carbohydrates than lean protein from animal sources.
